A huge 44' trawler with a whopping 16' 4" beam. This well built and highly economical yacht is ready to leave for the islands or to move on as a liveaboard today. This incredibly strong vessel has survived a multitude of heavy seas while cruising, over and over again proving her incredible sea keeping abilities. She is built to carry her owners in safety and comfort anywhere their dreams take them.

INTERIOR SPECIFICATIONS

The three cabin layout starts up forward with a roomy v-berth that sleeps 2 with ample stowage for gear. Just aft and to port is the crew's cabin, which is where we find access to the full width engine room. Opposite the crews cabin is the forward head and shower.

Up a few stairs and we enter the main saloon. Open, light and airy this seems more like your living room than a saloon on a 44' boat. With opening windows all around, the saloon is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the cool sea breeze. Forward and to starboard there is a very effective interior helm station.

Tucked away aft and to port is the galley. Featuring a microwave/convection oven as well as a traditional oven, three burner princess range and ample room to work, the galley provides a place to prepare meals without ever having to leave your guests. Also included in the galley equipment is a 110 volt fridge/freezer with ice maker and a separate drink cooler.

Traveling aft and down we arrive at the huge master stateroom. Full width and beautifully done in teak wood, the master is a great area to recharge after a long day of diving, swimming, and entertaining. A queen size island berth affords easy access to all sides of the bed. Large opening ports allow plenty of natural light and ventilation in. Hanging lockers line both sides of the cabin and just to the port of the stairs is the ensuite head and shower.

 

EXTERIOR SPECIFICATIONS

The outside of the boat is divided into three main areas. Up forward we have the bow section, with a large sun pad for lying out. Aft is the shaded aft deck area with seating for 5 and room for more. And up top is the fly bridge with seating for about 8, also completely shaded by a new Bimini top.

Moving around on the decks is made safe by the very high bulwarks that run along the side decks and give guests and crew the feeling of walking on a boat quite a bit larger than 44'.

MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Powered by reliable Volvo 260 hp MD60 turbo motors she motors at about 9 kts burning a measly 10 gallons per hour combined, and that's with the 15kw Onan genset running. She also has 3 brand new a/c units which. Along with the engines are readily accessible in the engine room. Being full width the engine room allows for easy access to all mechanical equipment. The boat has shore-side 50amp 110 volt power and a 110 volt battery charger so all systems run dockside and at sea.

This Island Gypsy is a very clean example of an incredibly well built boat. All canvas is new in '06. There are many spares, extra lines, storm ground tackle, etc. If cruising the Islands is your dream than this is a boat that cannot be passed by!
